Day 6 big gears and big climbing

Had a close escape with an ex marine leach in the pub last night. Tried to break our fingers with his handshake and did a faux hand chop on tim. Met him again this morning at the post office where he was a little more subdued without alcohol. Managed to start out before 10 for once with some nerves about distance and height gain for the day. Weather was cold and breezy with headwinds for much of the day. Coast around gruinard was good but all the little hills and the wind were adding up. Big climb of the day turned out to be a steady grind from the wooded glades of dundonell into the wind and descent was poor due to headwind. We went round the windward mark when we hit the main ullapool road so all was then good. Busy road but more opportunities for getting truck drivers to honk. Great fish and chips in ullapool followed by live music in the pub. A Tough day distance today: 85 km max speed: 66 kph total: 290 ish km hardness rating: its up there!
